From the age of 3, Jamie Rojas has been studying movement. She began by studying ballet, contemporary, jazz, and modern dance. Eventually, Jamie went on to getting a bachelors in dance at Saint Mary’s College of California. Within this time she has taught many dance classes and studied the anatomy of the body and how to move the body in a safe and aligned manner.
Jamie started practicing yoga 14 years ago. Over the years she has developed her practice studying Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Power yoga, Hatha, Yin/Restorative, and Kundalini. She traveled to India to do an intensive study in Rishikesh and develop her knowledge and skills of the origin of yoga. She then went on to get her 200 hour YTT here in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Jamie uses her experience and heart to teach classes that really focus on breath, movement synchronicity, dropping into the present moment, and paying attention to preventing injury. She truly believes yoga is not just about the physical, but the mental and emotional aspects of our being as well.
She encourages everyone to recognize that they are their own healers and emphasizes the use of yoga as a way for people to find inner peace using nothing external except the breath and body. Yoga has had a huge impact on her awakening into consciousness and continuing to find self love.
